A digital media product built around speed, relevance, and usability

Informat is a Romanian news portal covering categories such as economy, politics, current affairs, sports, health, education, environment, science, IT&C, and lifestyle. The platform helps readers follow important topics quickly by combining short summaries, source comparisons, and original editorial content.

As the product evolved, the need was not just for a news website. It was for a broader digital platform able to support both the reader-facing experience and the internal editorial workflows required to aggregate, review, manage, and distribute content efficiently.

Building more than a publishing front-end

The challenge was not simply to launch a media website and mobile app. The real need was to create a connected product ecosystem that could support content intake, AI-assisted processing, editorial control, multi-channel publishing, and ongoing product iteration.

This meant dealing with multiple applications serving different users across the same ecosystem, fast-moving content flows across web, mobile, and editorial operations, AI-assisted summarization and translation inside the aggregation workflow, the need for both automated processing and human editorial control, and continuous delivery in a product expected to evolve after launch.

The project required more than implementation capacity. It required a delivery setup that could connect product planning, development, QA, DevOps, and long-term support in a content-heavy digital environment.

A connected content platform for readers, editors, and product operations

We worked with Informat to build and maintain a suite of six core components forming part of the broader product ecosystem.

News web application

A responsive web product designed to help readers browse recent stories, filter by categories, search content, access article summaries, and explore related sources around the same event.

Mobile applications

Cross-platform mobile apps for iOS and Android, built to extend the news experience with personalized feeds, user preferences, account management, and push notifications for breaking news and favorite categories.

Aggregation app

An internal application used by the editorial team to collect news from public sources, create events, and support AI-based translation and summarization before publication.

Back-office solution

An administration layer built to give editors and administrators control over article approval, publishing workflows, users, settings, and operational visibility across the platform.

CMS for exclusive content

A dedicated content management layer for Informat's own original articles, integrated with the wider ecosystem rather than managed as a disconnected publishing tool.

Custom API

A shared backend layer serving the web app, mobile apps, and editorial tools, including REST endpoints, documentation via Swagger, and websocket functionality for real-time updates.

End-to-end product delivery across web, mobile, AI workflows, and infrastructure

Our involvement covered the core areas needed to move the project from planning to launch and ongoing evolution.

  • Solution design and technical consulting
  • Software architecture
  • Frontend development
  • Backend development
  • Mobile development
  • QA and validation
  • DevOps and automated deployment support
  • Maintenance and continuous product iteration

Built through close collaboration and fast phased delivery

We approached the project as a structured delivery effort with a relatively short implementation timeline and close client collaboration throughout.

The work started with a planning phase focused on architecture, technology choices, and estimation. During implementation, we worked in two-week sprints, kept communication tight with the client, and provided continuous access to a staging environment so feedback could happen early and often.

This approach helped us align technical decisions with the client's product goals, move from planning to production within a tight delivery window, coordinate web, mobile, backend, QA, and DevOps workstreams, and transition smoothly from launch into maintenance and feature evolution.

Our role did not stop at release. The collaboration continued with ongoing support, product adjustments, and new feature additions after launch.

A strong example of building AI-enabled information products

This project reflects the kind of work we are best suited for: digital products where content, operations, multiple applications, and AI-enabled workflows need to work together as one system.

What makes it especially relevant is the combination of multi-application product architecture, editorial and consumer workflows inside the same ecosystem, AI-assisted processing embedded into operational flows, web, mobile, backend, and infrastructure delivery working together, and long-term product evolution beyond the initial launch.

For us, this is more than a media case study. It is a strong example of how we help clients build modern information products that combine usability, operational control, and scalable engineering.

What the engagement delivered

  • A connected ecosystem spanning reader-facing products and internal editorial operations
  • Support for personalized news experiences across web and mobile
  • AI-assisted workflows for content aggregation, translation, and summarization
  • A flexible technical foundation for continued feature development after launch
